Vertical Centrifuge uses centrifugal force to dry drilled solids in oil or synthetic base fluids. A stainless steel screen bowl traps “wet” solids and accelerates them up 900 RPM. Liquid is forced through the screen bowl openings, while “dry” solids are extracted by the angled flights attached to the cone, which rotate slightly slower than the bowl. Tungsten carbide protects the flights from abrasive solids and ensures long operational life. This aids in maintaining a constant gap between the scroll and screen bowl, which is crucial for proper operation. KOSUN Cutting Dryer has been done with strict balance testing for all major rotary components to minimize vibration & noisy.

The VERTI-G dryer gives operators a critical advantage in meeting increasingly stringent environmental rules for cuttings disposal. The flow of cuttings into the VERTI-G dryer is PLC-controlled and continuously fed to yield optimum liquid/ solid separation. Once cuttings are introduced into the dryer’s charge hopper, widely spaced, independently adjustable flights continuously direct cuttings to the shaker screen surface. Flights are tungsten carbide coated to reduce abrasion and ensure optimum tolerance.
The KOSUN Vertical Centrifuge returns and recycles large percentages of SBM ( Synthetic Base Mud ) and OBM ( Oil Base Mud ) to an active system which in the past was lost as waste products to the environment. KOSUN Vertical Centrifuge can reduce total discharged OOC below 6%, which is currently the discharge limit in many areas of the world, our goal is 5% total OBM discharge to the environment, and even further.
